God's Middle Finger

Someone has let Richard Grant do a video trailer for his new travel book, God’s Middle Finger, about lawlessness in the Sierra Madre in Mexico. I don’t normally plug books I haven’t read, but it sounds like Grant almost got killed; the mood of his book fits with the general aesthetic of Radio Free Mike; and he comes highly recommended by a friend or two in Arizona. Also I think a video trailer for a book is a good way to exploit the Internet for the benefit of plain old-fashioned print. (But why better than a TV commercial, which would have bored or disgusted me? Hmm.) “I started going to the Sierra Madre out of curiosity,” Grant says with British understatement. “I soon found out that it was a lot more dangerous than I bargained for, but I kept going back.”
